Nonbinary and Neo Pronoun Campaign

This campaign began with a desire to explore a subject I knew of but wanted to continue learning about and understanding. The campaign includes a large format poster, children’s books, and circular, customizable stickers. The entire campaign was displayed in Miami University’s Art and Architecture Library, shared with Miami University’s Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion, and Utilized by Rose Hulman Institute of Technology’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion. This project and related conversations led to the acquisition of a new resource for Miami University’s Oxford campus.

More Information

Research for this project included the book “What’s Your Pronoun? Beyond He & She” by Dennis Baron and The Trevor Project. Deliverables went through several iterations in order to best reach a diverse audience when displayed on Miami University’s campus. As part of this project, I created a children’s book to frame the usage of nonbinary and neopronouns in a simplistic way for all ages and all knowledge levels.

After this project, I met with the Miami University Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion. I talked with the staff to present my findings. They were able to order the book “What’s Your Pronoun? Beyond He & She” for the Oxford campus. I was also able to share my project with Rose Hulman Institute of Technology’s Center for Diversity and Inclusion. They were able to use my work in various trainings for staff and students.
